Jorhat, 6th March: A terrible road accident took place on National Highway 37 near Jorhat on 5th March 2014 at around 2:00 PM. A speeding passenger bus heading towards Dibrugarh collided head-on with a truck carrying construction materials.
The impact was severe, leaving the front of the bus mangled. Two passengers died on the spot and over fifteen others were seriously injured. Eyewitnesses immediately alerted the police and emergency services. Ambulances rushed to the site and the injured were taken to Jorhat Civil Hospital. Local residents provided water and basic aid until help arrived.
The police quickly cleared the road to resume traffic and have begun an investigation. Authorities have urged drivers to follow speed limits and observe safety rules strictly to avoid such tragedies.
